I'm embarassed to report that we arrived and set up at Broadway on Thursday afternoon without noticing that the Remi Tilt and slide had been "lost" on the 100 mile journey. I tried some of the local dealers for help but the best reply was we could do something at the end of June !!!.At this point along with the kind help of the wardens at the site to cover the hole with some plywood and thicj polythene and a mile and a half of strong silver tape.

Any way now we're home safely (despite this mornings snow)All i need to do is get it repaired.

Its a 2003 Avondale Dart 515, i think its a Remi Top tilt and slide sun roof. How can i find a part number or better still a less than full price replacement. I've booked a telephone call to the lcoal dealer and the CC insurance in the morning but would welcome any advice from the experienced among you.

I already had some good advice from the dearly beloved, she had some choice comments to make....bless her.

thanks

feel a little happier now as CC comprehensive insurance will cover the cost of replacement sun roof.A bonus too, dealer will try to squeeze it in to be done quickly otherwise won't be until end of June !

The Remi Tilt has a bit of history to it.

Bailey fitted them to the 2001 models but the perspex cracked around the fitment holes. A redesigned, heavy-duty version, was fitted from 2002 and retro-fitted under warranty on many 2001s.

Unfortunately Bailey moved the sunroof right forward over the lounge on the 2002 models and a significant number came off while towing and were replaced under warranty, more than once in some cases.

For 2003 Bailey moved the sunroof back over the central area and it's been fine there as far as I know.

Where's the Remi Tilt on a 2003 Avondale Dart 515? If it's over the lounge then you have the potential to lose it again.

Hi Neil, If its any consolation I had the same problem with my Avondale Dart, but before anyone suggests a manufacturing fault I have to admit that I had failed to close it properly.

My roof was replaced by a very helpful service manager at Reid caravans at Blackburn, He happend to have a 2nd hand part and the whole job cost

to answer both posts above in one swoop -

Yes i did open the sun roof when i got it oput of storage and to be honset cnnot remember clipping it back down, having said that the dearly beloved is responsible for inside when we pack up and the number of times we have checked and double checked windows etc are c;losed properly orfetn leads to a crossed word or two. The tilt n slide is over the back of the lounge area. The temprpary repair is holding out well and the bill at the moment has topped
