Lost wheel clamp keys

Hi everyone,

I inherited a "Keep it" wheelclamp several years ago with one set of keys. Came to dig the thing out this week and cannot now find the keys. Knowing how "sod's law" works I wrote the key numbers down. I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced similar and how they resolved it. The wheelclamp was not purchased locally and dealers don't really want to know.

Thanks,

Ron.

Do you still have the note with the key numbers ? If so and you are willing to divulge them on the forum maybe someone has a matching set - or possibly Perkson KeepIt could supply.

Just a follow up to my original post, in case anyone else finds themselves with a keyless wheelclamp (or similar)that uses a tubular key.

I gave up with the manufacturers and dealers and took the clamp to a locksmith (thanks Tups) apparently they can not only open the lock but can also cut a new key from the info. obtained.

Result!

Result ! Interesting to hear that a locksmith can cut a key in that situation. Good job the clamp was not on the 'van when the keys went missing though.

On the subject of Keepit clamps . . . I have on going spare - collect only - (from Teesside I imagine the postage would be more than the thing is worth.)

Ron - you make mention in your posting that a locksmith has stepped in to help regarding your lost keys. A neighbour of mine is in a similar position regarding lost keys for both the wheel clamp and the hitch lock. On your posting I suggested he phone a locksmith - to date he has tried three and none are capable of helping. Unfortunately both devices are fitted to the van at present so it would require a mobile locksmith. Apart from having a word with the travelling fraternity he is now at a loss. The chap you used is he part of a UK network or a sole trader?

Hi Colin,

Yes a local locksmith opened the locks AND cut me two new keys.

The locks however must be TUBULAR and not the "Yale" type of lock.

The website address aboe shows the gadgets they use.

I would have thought, however, that any locksmith worth his salt would have been able to open a lock - even if he had to pick the thing!!

Any further info needed, let me knos.

Cheers,

Ron.
