Low Manesty is a lovely site but it isn't a perfectly manicured one. Small woodland glades seperate the pitches. When it rains, which it will, the rain drips on your roof for ages.

You can walk for miles directly from the site without setting foot on a road, catch the ferry directly to Keswick.

If you have a dog though , watch out for Ticks.

If you are correctly loaded you shouldn't have a problem. It is a narrow approach road all the way to the site, even from Keswick. It's vital that every one leaves the site in good time and no one tries to arrive early. You might not meet another caravan outfit but you may meet a coach coming the other way.

With care, I have never had a problem though and I must have visited this site more than any other in the network.

We stayed at Low Manesty and loved it, on the day we arrived somebody had removed the signs as you approach Grange and a sign said the bridge was 6'6" wide, so we continued on past the turning with the bridge! We then realised our mistake and had to reverse car and caravan on a narrow lane into a narrow farmers gate to turn around - not funny!!! The bridge does look narrow but the caravan does fit over it! Go very, very slowly so as not to ground the jockey wheel. The site is very pretty and there are lovely walks behind the site near the lake with "boardwalks".
