Hi Julie

Low Park Wood is easy to get to, being only a short distance off the M6 at J36.

A tip though, plan your arrival after 12:30 as the approach road from the dual carriageway is very narrow in places.

I speak from experience as, leaving at 11:30 one morning, I met an early arrival just outside the site.

As I was towing on my own, I was a bit (!!!!) irritated to have to reverse to a passing place.

Lovely site though, but very shaded in places due to the trees.

Enjoy.

Julie,

One of our favourite sites. We are going again for 16 nights in June.

As has been stated do not arrive before 12-30 and you will be fine. We have always arrived after 12-30 and never had a problem.

Good walks from the site along the river. A short walk from the site is a wonderfull farm shop, close to the end of the lane to the site.

Lots of wild flowers on site due to the woodland setting.

I find it a photographers paradise.

I would have a walk round the site to choose your pitch as there are so many different areas.

If you are putting up an awning make sure you have steel pegs as the ground is hard in places.

We find children love the paths through the woods.

I would print a map of the site off before you go so you have a good idea of the layout. On the Caravan Club web site you can print out layouts of any site.

Have a good time.

I would agree with the other comments - we live not far away and use it for weekends when possible - yes the last section of the approach lane is narrow so arrive p.m. - the two toilet blocks were refurbished a couple of years ago - a site plan is recommended as its set out in various glades some a bit small - choose your pitch carefully as there are a lot of overhanging trees - great site for kids to explore - Kendal is handy for shopping - Bowness, Keswick and Coniston are worth a trip but there are numerous places to visit in the area - get stocked up with tourist info brochures
