Bought a new LUNAR CLUBMAN 22 months ago and have used it 15 times. It has been back to Dealership 5 times for repairs already. Repaired front steady leg that broke on first outing, microwave replaced after it started smouldering, TV Amplifier replaced, water leak repaired and on a sixth occasion engineer called out on site to replace fridge circuit board. The caravan is currently at the Dealers after front locker box hinge broke - found to be only held on by small blob of glue. ALSO WHOLE OF FRONT UPPER PANEL OF CARAVAN BEING REPLACED after found to have damp ingress. Many other smaller problems we have either repaired ourselves or just live with. - BUYER BEWARE

Same here. I've had an excellent Lunar experience! Looking at the list of faults above, most of them seem to be with fitted equipment anyway (ALKO leg, Daewoo microwave, Status booster, theford fridge etc). Before the Lunar we had a run of Baileys and the fridge in one of these was changed twice before we got one that worked! I never considered this to be a Bailey problem.
Water ingress shouldn't happen, but it does with all makes.

My first Lunar was a 2009 Lexon SE. What a pile of rubbish that was. Three factory visits to rectify (together with a number of dealer visits) and the problems just continued - including leaks in the plural! Eventually I gave an ultimatum, but of course the only thing that was financially viable was another Lunar. This time we had a 2010 Clubman SE. So far you wouldn't believe that the two 'vans came out of the same factory. The Clubman is still quite new (June), but so far the only issues have been a CD player that doesn't and a loose shower riser, both components rather than construction. Time will tell of course as to how this one lasts, but I certainly pity the poor people who have been lumbered with that Lexon.
There certainly doesn't appear to be consistent quality control at Lunar which is a shame because when comparing with other brands, (with the exception of not being able to turn out a 'van that hasn't had one of its sides repaired (or left with a tiny dent)) their actual fit and finish is amongst the best.
However, would I have another? Based upon experience and the "hit and miss" possibility of getting a good one, probably not. Our previous caravans (5) whilst not perfect didn't have any where near the problems that the Lexon did.

Thanks for your reply Joe The replies I have received seem to be mixed - perhaps we have just been unlucky but having 3 previous caravans all quite old and no problems with any I still feel let down by this Lunar. I agree that most of the problems are related to manufactured equpment rather that Lunar but they do supple it. The damp ingress I referred to is not just a seal but actual rotting to the front of the van and the whole of the front upper panel is having to be replaced !! A lot of the smaller problems that I did not mention do relate to poor build quality by Lunar such as trims, cupboard fittings, glue all over the pace, faulty locks etc.
Good to hear from you though.

Hi, we have the Lunar Lexon 640 and this is our 19th consecutive night in it, so far no problems that we can blame lunar for - only operator error! Its a dream to tow, and easy to live in. Before we bought it we had no idea which manufacturer to go with, we had a layout that we wanted and that was it. Just so happened that Lunar came up with the goods.
We have a few minor problems but as its 5 years old we do expect some things to be a bit wonky!
As others have said, all faults appear to be none Lunar related, so maybe just unlucky!
Water ingress is another matter, not necessarily a lunar fault but a general fault amongst all manufacturers, the majority of folk appear to get good vans, and its the few unfortunate people like yourself that have a dud.
I wonder what the burn rate on the warranty is like, these figures not generally being published! I would like to see these, this would give a clear idea as to which manufacturers were making good vans!
Till then its pot luck I guess!
