Lunar Lexon Water Pump

I have recently purchased a new Lunar Lexon EW and the water pump 'hammers' very rapidly and loudly, perhaps up to 20 times, when the water tap (any tap) is turned off. I have raised the issue with my dealer and he says that this is 'normal' for this system. Surely not!! Does anyone have the same issue and if so how was it corrected

Cheers

Geoff

You may be able to adjust the pressure switch by trial and error .

There should/could be a surge damper in the cold feed before it gets to the hot branch.

If you have one it may benefit from pumping up a bit

Hi Geoff, Have you tried adjusting the pressure switch? If you unscrew perhaps a quarter turn your pump will switch off at a lower pressure.

You could also check if the van has been fitted with a pressure damper. This is a small chamber that helps to stop the pressure switch from operating to quickly.

Sorted!! Have found the pressure switch and adjusted it. The hammering has gone, the wife is happy and the dealer deserves a rollicking!! Thanks for the info.

Geoff
