Hi,

We're looking at going to the Lyme Regis/Charmouth area in June.

We have 2 dogs and require EHU and a washblock on site. We're not in the CC or C&CC.

Has anyone stayed at either Hunters Moon or Monkton Wyld as these are the 2 sites we're considering. Or, can anyone else recommend a site in the area?

Thanks.

hi, We stayed at Hunters Moon last year at spring bank holiday.

It was ok, nothing to complain about and the bar / resteraunt was very good. The pitches were ok as were the wash blocks, nothing outstanding but did the job. I havn't stayed at Monkton Wylde for 10 years or more so can't say what it is like now.

Have a great time in a beautiful part of my home county with the coastal "resorts" of Devon not far away. My favorite site in the area is Seadown at Charmouth which has got great coastal walks for an evening stroll.

Monkton Wyld caravan site is now incorporated in the Charmouth C&CC site. There are several sites in the area: Newlands Holiday Park, Charmouth; Wood Farm Caravan & Camping Park (part of this site is CC only, but a large section for non-members); Seadown holiday Park, Charmouth; Cannington Farm Campsite, Uplyme, Lyme Regis; Manor Fields Farm, Lyme Regis; Shrubbery Caravan Park, Lyme Regis.

Because of the high prices charged at most of these sites it would be worth you taking out membership of the C&CC and staying at their Charmouth Site. It would probably work out chesper if you are going to stay for a week or more.

I live only 25 miles away, and I have only stayed at the C&CC site and Wood Farm but can recommend Charmouth C&CC site very highly.

Good luck

Hello

We stayed at Newlands which is a good well run site but a bit expensive. Seadown is close to the beach, doesn,t have a bar or clubhouse but there are pubs a short walk away in the village should you wish to use them. We sneaked a look round Seadown while we were there and the toilets / shower blocks were spotlessly clean. If I remember right they do discount deals at certain times of the year.

Hi Ray

We've just looked up Seadown's website - looks good and more reasonably priced than I expected.

Hubby is at present favouring this one as very close to the sea for sea fishing and using his kayak! It also looks good for coastal walks, especially for our 2 dogs.
