lyme regis weymouth area

Doninic, there is a lovely site 2 miles Lyme regis called Wood farm, it is an affilliated caravan club site. It has fantastic views over the rolling hills and is a 5 minute drive from the coast.Weymouth is about 3/4 hour across the back road through abbottsbury.

Very well worth a look albeit not a cheap stay!!

If you fancy a nice CL, try Washingpool Farm at Bridport. Adults only, nice level semi-hard pitches, excellent farm shop with restaurent adjacent. They have a website - google washingpool farm. (No shower, but individual taps and good electrics)

We've used Bagwell Farm (only 4 miles outside Weymouth), on several occasions, and found it very nice. See below.

Ask for a pitch down by the hedge running along the bottom of the site near the shower/toilet blocks in the winter for best protection from winter winds.

This site may also help you.

Bear in mind that in the winter months, many 'seaside resort' campsites in Dorset can resemble ghost towns, with most attractions shut down. You may want to stay a little further inland (like Bagwell), to avoid icy cold sea breezes.

We've tried Bagwell Farm - it was very nice. Quiet enough in the summer when we visited and there is a sister site just over the hill with a bar and entertainment on.

Nigel.
