Hi Guys,

We are travelling back from Newquay to Glasgow in August and would appreciate some recommendations on sites close to the M6

around the half way point in Staffordshire. I have booked a night at a cc site in Leek but I think its a little too far off the M6 for my liking!

Yours in anticipation,

Peter.

Hi Pete not wishing to put you off the site at Leek, ideal if you are stopping for perhaps 2 days, its a lovely site surroundings etc -but not as an overnight stop its too far off the M6... its a good 15 miles away and travelling up the a50/a500/a53 through Stoke on Trent to Leek is not so good the main routes are always clogged up with traffic, you may be better going a little further on into Cheshire, no cc sites off the m6 in Staffs apart from High Onn (stafford) with no toilet block. Hope that helps a little.have a good time where ever you end up..

Hi again .. I dont really know any sites in Cheshire, we normally go to Cheshter fairoakes but that is veering off the M6 too. I dont know what time you would be travelling but consider the M6 through rush hour traffic Birmingham, it may pay you to stop over night south of birmigham and setting off after 9.30am when it quietens down a little, in which case Worcestershire is very nice, and Tewkesbury Abbey would be great for you..

Peter,

We have used The Red Lion Farm CL in the village of Haughton, just outside Stafford. If you are members of the Caravan Club you will find the address in your sites book.It has toilet & shower facilities and an excellent farm shop / tearoom.

We stayed at High Onn on one occasion only but it is in the back of beyond down some very narrow lanes so wouldn't choose to go back there.

In Cheshire we have also stayed on a CL which is minutes from the M6 ( Junct 19 ) under the heading Northwich.....Mr.P Wilkinson,Gravestones Farm. This was perfectly adequate for an overnight.......no toilet facilities but they have electrics.

If you want a fully fledged site adult only approx 15-20mins from the M6 Junct 19 try Lamb Cottage caravan park.....not cheap but a quality site to stay on.They have a web site which you can look at.

Hope this helps you.......we live just north of Glasgow.

Hi Peter

theres a CC CL site just off M54 Jnc 1 in Westcroft. Dont know anything about it just pass it when I'm going up north from home in Wolverhampton.

Its easy to access and only about 2-3 minutes of the M-way. Plus it would be easy for you to get back onto M6 at Jnc 11 as thats only about 1 mile away and on the same road.

There is a site about 2 miles from junction 21 of the M6. It's Holly Bank Caravan Site at Warburton close to the Manchester Ship Canal but it maybe too far on for you. Furthermore, it does not get a particularly good write up but it should OK for an overnight stop.

Hi

There'a CL I think not too far from Junction 15 , on the A51, on the opposite side of the road and just before Bridgemere Garden Centre. Bridgemere Garden Centre comes under Nantwich Cheshire CW5 7QB. I drive past the CL on route to the garden centre. Bridgemere garden centre is well signposted from junction 15.

Butterton Grange, Trentham Road, Butterton, Newcastle, Staffs

This is a site set in beautiful surroundings in a quiet farm.
