Very simple I expect. When I am hooked up to the mains at home which position should I have the switch in the caravan? Off or Caravan ? Thanks.
 
The switch in the caravan you describe is for 12V distribution.If you are on mains electric it makes no difference to the 12V other than boosting the supply/charge so it depends on whether you want the power on from the van battery or not really.
