Direct connection seems a good idea at first (rather than via Aquaroll) but bewware high and variable pressures from site taps - the joints in caravan plumbing may not survive. I know some connecctors use a pressure reducing valve, but these too are susceptable. Also, if they are used on very hard water typically in mountain areas and then left to dry out, the lime will sieze them up and they may fail to work next time.

Make your own Aquaroll side connector (40l only) using a Torbeck side endrty cistern valve for about

Hey Ray,

I'm not surprised if the joints in caravan water systems leak if a hose is connected without a pressure reducer. Mains water pressure is typically 6 Bar, and with inertial loads can easily double or more for a moment. caravan water systems are designed for about 1.5 Bar.

Paul, there area a few systems that offer what you are asking, and previous respondents have posted some useful links, but there is a fairly common complaint about the in line pressure reducer systems and that is poor flow compared to an electric pump. The torbeck valve in a water carrier is a neat solution and relatively low cost, and if there is a hose leak, it at least outside the caravan. It just needs someone to com up with an equally neat solution for the waste water.

Hi Folks,

Have been using the aquaroll mains water adaptor for a couple of years now and can't fault it. As john said if any thing goes pear shaped it's outside the van where it can do no damage. Used in France last year and it was a God send. No trips to the water points to top up.The only thing extra I did was to make up a extra hose with food grade (blue) hose a couple of hose lock adaptors and a hose lock in line pipe connector to couple the two hoses together. Total cost for 6m of hose and hose lock fittings
