We are planning to go to Blackpool in July this year. Having been to Haggerston for the last 2 years (for the kids!) we found the touring area very disapointing last year. Has anyone been to Marton Mere and can you give me reports of it please, good or bad.

If there any other sites in the Blackpool area which are of a good standard please let me know.

Thanks

There have been alot of negative reports on marton mere but we went beginning june last year and had a fantastic holiday. make sure you book a premier pitch though.

Apparently during school holidays can be bit rough so its up to you. We going to Devon cliffs this year.

I guess with Haven you dont expect too much cos you pay little so anything after that is a bonus.

brehda, last year haven moved the touring site at devon cliffs to right behind the clubs, they couldnt even make the pitches level or big enough for twin axles and if it rains god help you rain runs off road and through awnings making for a mud bath. The sun is now blocked out by the trees behind club, dont get me wrong its great for the kids but after going for last eight years we wont be going again. Also the touring manager Mr Ball is useless!!

Havent been to Marton Mere for six years and have no intention of returning. It may have changed but the hard standing wa just big enough to fit an 18ft van onto and as it was very wet the grass was just a mud bath. Got woken late at night when the club emptied and then again early in the morning .

Hi - we are booked to stay at marton mere end of this month, we previously stayed at Lakeland (Haven) in Cumbria this was on grass and you were packed in like sardines. This time we are on hardstanding premier pitch at martin mere so hopefully should be a bit better. If you put in martin meres postcode on www.aboutmyplace.co.uk you can look at the touring pitches arrangements, they look ok to me. Also have a look on www.ukcampsite.co.uk - the reviews are ok. We have paid
