Hello Eddie

What part of the masking tape are you trying to get off? Is it just the 'glue' residue left behind when the tape is peeled off?

Hi Eddie

Try using a little "Sticky Stuff Remover" on an unobtrusive part of the caravan. Although a smalllooking bottle, believe me it goes a long way. It can be bought in high street stores or, alternatively, from Lakeland Stores.

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago after I repaired the rear of my old Elddis, it was difficult removing the tape as it had been baked on by the sun (sun?). I tried a lot of remedies including WD40, but I had the best results using "GUNK" engine cleaner, make up a small pad with a piece of rag and soak it in Gunk and dab it onto the tape/sticky stuff allow to soak in and wipe away.

Have you not tried white spirit on a rag? Should lift the residue no problem.

Use latex gloves though as your fingers get sore otherwise (stand back and wait for the H&S police...)

You could try this. http://www.amazon.co.uk/JML-Magic-Eraser-V1352/dp/B00097ECGM Its just a bit of foam but it seems to remove just about anything from just about any hard suface. It does not damage the surface though.

Eddie,

Find your local motor factors (they're the ones who supply the local motor trade) & ask for a can of "tar & Glue" remover, does what it says on the tin! & wont harm the paintwork.
