As part of a bigger project adding some 12V sockets to my lounge area, I decided to replace the existing TV aerial connection point. The existing one had no water proofing, was oxidising and also I wanted to add a satellite connection.
The replacement point covers the hole left by the previous unit got it all lined up to what I thought was perfection…. Then woe, I discovered that the top screw is not clear of the original hole, so just goes into mid air! There seems to be two options for repairing , copious amounts of Soudall sealant around the area which isn’t fully compressed, or very fiddlylong machine screw, but and metal fixing plate job. Made all the more difficult due to the inner part of the socket being down the side of the hot water tank. The latter seems to be the best option. Most frustrating!
