Ray i havent driven the Mazda but have dealt with Drivethedeal.
They act as a broker and ping your requirements to their selected dealers, they then put you in touch with the cheapest dealer which could be anywhere in the country.
Our Audi was from a dealer in Edinburgh and it would have been driven down to me, this was a stock car not sure on the situation on factory ordered as these could take months to delivery.
We took the paperwork to a couple of local dealers and 1 matched the offer so didnt end up using them.
Speaking to a friend who has a Mazda dealership in their group the Mazda is mainly factory order with very limited ordered stock, but a few hig spec ex demo's are available.

Thanks for the reply Michael .
I'll be ordering around summer with the sound of it for autumn delivery, i may have to use DTD due to the lack of discounts with the dealers i have so far approached, which will be a first for me.
The CX-5 is popular world wide but not with out some teething problems, so towards the end of the year will suit.
Having just booked a MOT, service, and about to pay another year VED, it all falls into place.
I must say its very quite on this forum, i posted a different topic on another forum yesterday dinner and have already had 49 replies and 1,071 views.!

If discounts arent available from dealers for the Mazda then Drivethedeal will struggle as well as the dealer also has to pay them a fee on top of giving you a discount.
Maybe in 6 months things will be different?

Car dealers have two different discount structures, supported by their manufacturer - fleet discount which can exceed 50% off RRP and retail discount which rarely exceeds 8%.
Discount brokers like Drivethedeal will normally be accessing the fleet structure not the retail one.

Fleet discounts tend be from just one dealer or direct from the manufacturer and these are purchased in bulk or guarantee 100's of sales during the year, drive the deal work differently as they are buying one at a time from any dealer, but only say about 20 sales.
The idea is they will ping their suppliers and if you have a lot of stock or want to get rid of a cancelled order they have the chance to, also if the dealer has to reach targets for the month then again it is a good opportunity.
Big discounts are to be had on mass produced cars, but limited stock or in demand cars they dont need to discount so much.
A prime example is the VW Up none of the brokers can get more than £500 off of one , which s what the dealer will give you, if they dont need to discount then they wont.
The dealer margins on the likes of BMW, Mercedes etc is approx 11%,
