Yep, have driven 10 of thousands of miles in V class's and now Viano.
Diesel output on the CDI is awesome for 2.2. I have a Bailey Sennator 5000 and it towed that brilliantly as it did the previous Bessacarr. ZF auto gear box is semi intelligent and changes depending on how you drive. If you have a heavy right foot it holds the revs before changing up and if you have a feather foot it takes its time. Also has winter mode and traction control and abs as standard, so pulling away with front wheel drive is easy all though new rear drive Viano is better. Air suspension keeps the car level and is great with the van behind. Sennator sat dead level with Bosal detachable tow hitch.
Beware of costly mercedes factory tow bar, and if it has reversing sensors you couldhave a problem getting right tow hitch. All Tow near Sonning Common Reading were good buys for
Bosal compared to Brink and have been fine.
CDI engine has lots of covers over the main engine, they do not remove covers during servicing and injectors tend to leak if not tightened down regularly. First sign of leaking injector is a hard to detect wisp of smoke from the side of the bonnet as fuel weeps and burns forming carbon mess between the Cams around the injectors. Don't believe dealer if tell they are not a problem, Mine and three others were sat in a garage all with a mass off carbon sat cooked on top of the engine! Happens on loads of Vito's as they are the same of course.
You need to invest in star type sockets to remove covers and air ducting and make sure area around injectors is clean and that bolt that holds the securing "fork" is in place and correctly torqued down. If the vehicle has done over 50k do not trust to servicing as until the computer shows a problem the dealer will not go looking! New injectors are about
