mice

My parents have had caravans for some years. They have now found in their Lunar Clubman that mice have got in while the van was in storage. Despite taking the van to have the access holes blocked up they are still getting in. Any ideas about what they can do? My mum now wants to sell the van and doesn't want to use it again!! Please help!!

Hi Sue

Not a pleasant problem! Are you sure that it isn't the original mice still in the van- through experience ( we live on a farm!) there is usually more than one. If you have set traps and caught one reset the traps until the trap has been empty for a few days. Then strip the van and completely clean and disinfect it. (Your mum mught be happier if a professional valet is done) Mice rely on their sense of smell and if one mouse has been there it attracts others. Anyway good luck I do hope it doesn't put your Mum off for ever! It could be worse I have just read of someone who had bigger rodents in his van - then I WOULD be getting rod of it!!
