midges -- the best defence

Totally agree with Shayne-we have not found anything else that works as well as Avon-even some stuff we bought in Egypt,it worked out there but not in Scotland!

In my experience it has to be the green Woodland Fresh not the pink one, whatever it is called. The pink one just doesn't work. The green one works a treat, and it is on sale in some shops in midgie country.

Avon "Skin So Soft" is excellent and is available from Tiso outdoor shops in Scotland - www.tiso.com
Hi folks,

we've been up there in Scotland (Isle of Skye) last year. And we used avon skin-so-soft as well... and it worked nearly perfect!

But it must be the green one "Woodland Fresh".

Some campsites have it in stock (e.g. the well-cared-about campsite at Dunvegan / Isle of Skye).

Others were sitting and grumbling under their midget-nets...we had a wonderful BBQ with just shorts and t-shirts on.

All the best,

Ruediger from Germany
