Hi Graham
He's a crafty Mac Bug is our Midgie. He burrows deep into the ground over winter. I expect this year the population will be decreased but no where near eradicated. If numbers were too low he'd become a protected species! LOL.

If you go to the East side of Scotland you will missthe little pests. They seem to prefer the damper weather and climate of the Western side of Scotland
Midges on the West Coast are here for the same reason we are - the West is far more beautiful than the East. Rumour has it the severe cold this winter will have killed them - but don,t bet on it
