He's a crafty Mac Bug is our Midgie. He burrows deep into the ground over winter. I expect this year the population will be decreased but no where near eradicated. If numbers were too low he'd become a protected species! LOL.

Midges on the West Coast are here for the same reason we are - the West is far more beautiful than the East. Rumour has it the severe cold this winter will have killed them - but don,t bet on it
