Just had a couple of days at Milestone Park, Cromwell, near Newark. Immaculate site with new heated shower/toilet block. Very large pitches with some privacy. Short drive to Newark and Southwell. Highly recommended.

I checked that site out when in the area and yes, it's a nice site. What did concern me though Kev was the rumble from the A1. Maybe at this time of year when sat inside it isn't intrusive and again maybe, during the summer months when outside one gets used to it.

We have stayed there for a couple of nights, did not notice any A1 noise ,part of the site nearest the booking in area is the furthest away from the A1, the further you go into the site the closer to the A1.
Not a bad dog walk , it runs behind the site, if you walk far enough you will come to a railway crossing, take heed watch that the signal lights show red in both directions as the trains pass by about 100 mph .
Their are two toilet and shower blocks, Lots of wooden static vans some looking quite expensive , small fishing lake on site, off site a very large private lake on the boundary ,If you happen to climb up the bank which hides the A1 road looking down towards your left , you will see a open sewage works, must admit did not notice any odours.
Their is a seat positioned on the top of the bank, so that you can watch the traffic, we sat their for about 1 hr on a Friday afternoon, it turned out to be a very busy, with some scary moments with overtaking .
Its very handy pitstop acess from both sides of the A1,

AND, they're very good at dealing with rowdies. Whilst we were there, they gave a couple of warnings to a convoy of two vans and four tenters (all in one party). The third time they were asked to leave immediately, which they did.

Lisa

i stopped here with soome friends a couple of years ago and it is a very nice site, and its only a 5 minute walk up to the Diner- very nice grub and not expensive. We did find it noisy in the Friday night with lots of heavy traffic, but on Saturday night that stretch of the A1 was closed and you noticed the difference.
We were sat in the Diner on the Saturday evening when a very large owl silently swooped past the window and across the field at the back, It dropped down in to the grass and came up with a rodent for its supper.
