Herself and I recently booked a few days at Mill Farm, simply because our regular site in the area was full. Picked out of the CCC book, we had never visited the site before. First impressions were good. Peaceful, quiet, and an owner with a sense of humour.
Anyway, on setting up the van, I unhitched and the van rolled back ,only six inches but enough to knock Herself to the floor, as she was halfway into the van.The injury sustained meant a stay in hospital for five days, then a transfer to our local hospital. During her stay in Leicester Royal, I remained on site, visiting the hospital daily.
On leaving the site after five nights, I went to pay, only to be told that the visit was free, as neither Anne nor I had been able to enjoy the site! The only stipulation was that we return someday. Well, we are returning in September, as Herself is making a remarkable recovery, and is desperate to see this little gem properly.
So, Mr and Mrs Yates, thank you very much for your generosity, and we'll see you again soon.
Oh, and anyone else fancying a quiet little hideaway, give Mill Farm a try, but don't tell anyone else about it!
See, there are some lovely people about.

Sorry to hear about her indoors.

You say its better in a Royale, unless of course its Leicester Royal where parking is a nightmare.

As is the hospital itself, but that's another story. Let's just say that if we hadn't got her transfered, we'd have signed her out ourselves!

not a fan of the Leicester royal infirmary, but i could say the same of several other hospitals for one reason or another that i have crossed paths with. except i do owe my own wife's still being here to them and there bone marrow unit., my father who has only just come out of there high dependency unit after also being in there intensive care unit for 10 nights given little hope at one point, of course these are the specialist wings i speak of, but we can only speak as we find and in my life time this is the hospital that has treated me on several occasions two serious and I'm still here. maybe for some that's unfortunate. but in my numerous experiences they've done the business when it really matters .
