Mini Clubman & 22' Airstream

I happened to stumble upon this press release by Fritz Hansen describing their project of a Mini Clubman and a 22' Airstream exhibited at the Milan Motor Show recently. I presume the caravan was based on the smallest Airstream, the 532, but even that model has an MTPLM of 1700kg. Even the heaviest Mini Clubman won't weigh much more than 1300kg when empty, making a weight ratio of 130%. I wonder what they were trying to prove! I hope that it was only a design study and no-one has any serious intentions of marketing such a combination.

Perhaps the project was incomplete when you saw the details. The press release describes the interior furnishings.

They quote "Designed" where they mean styled; thank goodness those of us tasked with designing things such as aircraft, cars and ships for example know what "designed" has to mean.

The photo's of the caravan were the same as the artists impression Lutz, a fairly bare shell with fold out side!
