I have a 1996 1.8 zetec petrol engine mondeo 5 door. I am looking to buy a 4 berth caravan 1995-2000 any suggestions on what caravan would be safe to tow. Also I live in the north of scotland and tend to drive to Dover then where ever. so far the south of Italy being the longest drive. New to caravanning this will be our first caravan. 2 very excited kids, so really appreciate some help.

J just looked up the mondeo its around 1500kg a tonne + half hope this helps

kerb weight of the car is 1287 so thats the max for caravan and contents

with regards to choice of caravan. Baileys Discovery/Ranger models 4 berth would be okay for your car.

Thanks I have been looking for some suggestions on what type of caravan would suit. Have had trouble getting my head around weights etc so now have a lead.
