Moped riders

If you have an old car liscience like mine, then no, and no need

for L plates either. but if you intend to ride a moped as a 16/17

year old and do not have a full car liscience, then you need to take a cbt test first. which is basic training off the public road and then followed on the public road. You can then ride with L plates for 2 years? As these rules are changing all the time,it

may be even harder now....

Anyone wanting to ride a motorcycle on the road needs to do the CBT course to show that they are capable of handling their machine.

Fail this (which is highly unlikely)they are not allowed to ride on the road until they have passed the test.
