Just been told this from a mate.

“All cameras on M1 and M25 go live at midnight tonight, set at 72mph. Auto ticket generating system with 6 point penalty. Watch your speed and tell everyone else tonight, any speed over 90mph is instant ban & possible court & custodial sentence order!!
Drive safely“
So the M1 and M25 are now zero tolerance. I guess that’s one way to repay HMG. Covid-19 debts😢

Not sure if it is just me, but it seems that since the Covid lockdown the standard of driving has dropped considerably? We have had some very near misses over the past two weeks with people entering roundabouts and not giving way to vehicles already on the round about, not stopping at Give Way signs for traffic on a main road and overtaking in the face of oncoming traffic.

Totally agree here. 72isnt zero tolerance anyway, majority of speedos over read so at 72in our car you'd be doing an indicated 76ish mph. Agreed though revenue makers .

Other night M25, doing about 60mph inside lane, BMW went pass on hard shoulder swerved between me and hgv in front , then right over to outside lane. Expected to see it later in incident.
