Does anyone have any experience of travelling to Barmouth from the north? I will be travelling (towing)on Monday morn and as this is one of the few areas I have not visited before I wondered which would be the best route.

1. A55 to Llandudno jct, A470 to betws-y-coed,ffestiniog,then A496 just before Dolgellau.

2. A494 from Chester, through Ruthin, Corwen, Bala, Dolgellau.

3. Or maybe even A483 Wrexham, Chirk, A5 Llangollen,Corwen, Bala etc.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Many thanks

Mike

Hello Mike B,

I input your information to the www.viamichelin.co.uk site and it came up with your Option2 as the best route, this took into account the fact that you would be towing a caravan. It was a total of 74 miles and estimated driving time of 1hr. 48min.

This is a very useful site for route planning, with it caravan option.

Trust this is helpful,

Best regards,

George
