Hi all, first post.

Just recently bought my first van and when picking it up I noticed another 1 with a motor mover. I asked the dealer about one and he quoted me over £1000 so I left it. However on browsing the internet I came across a company offering an Enduro for £750 and offering to fit it at my home which I liked the idea of. But £750 is still £750 so was just wanting to check with more experienced caravanners before I ordered it?
What you all think?

All advice welcome,
Cheers,
Dave

You can compare motor movers here ( with prices for fitted or self fit )
smiley-wink.gif

It all depends on what size van that you have bought as to what mover to buy & also depending on what you will be expecting it to do

Thanks for the reply. The Enduro is suitable for my caravan and it is simpy for moving in and out of my driveway ( hence why i didnt want to spend over £1000 ). So what do you think of the caravan crews offer?
And what do you mean you cant find a location for the number? confused lol,

again thanks for the quick reply,
Dave

If you look at the link that you have put on !
There is no landline telephone No, or address available, only contact seems to be via e-mail.
It's not a case of being confused.
The online shop is still under construction.........( no address is given )
And on there home page .....

Try googling them

But did you know : You can have it fitted for £699 here

Please note: As of 11-March-2011 all Enduro Movers fitted come with a 5 Years PARTS ONLY Warranty. Labour is not included in warranty.

Mine's a H/D Powrtouch

You know what Dave save your self a lot of money and go on a caravan club towing course they will teach you how to reverse load and maintain your van and many other things then you wont need a motor mover because you car will do it all. Good luck

If only life was that simple for all driveways and parking. My van grounds it's rear end getting into our cul de sac on the back of the car but NOT with the mover as I can lower the front enough, then there is not enough room to manouvre onto the drive without destroying a neighbours garden so no amount of training and experience would get our van on and off the drive with a car and funnily enough we don't fancy trying to haul a twin axle up the slope by hand either!!!!

Anyway more than happy with our powrtouch and the one before on the single axle, love the peace of mind of their excellent back up.

Ditto to Martins post. I'd like copaul to show me how to put a caravan on my drive and he's more than welcome to try. Just as long as he uses his caravan
smiley-smile.gif

Apart from that I also use it on sites where I can pitch the caravan inch perfect everytime without all the shunting you see some doing or reversing onto the pitch and then manhandling the caravan. The latter I daren't risk due to a dicky back so the mover allows me to carry on caravanning without the risk of pain. If only they would invent an awning that fixes itself to the ground instead of stooping to hammer pegs in. This has laid me up a few days, the last time at Englethwaite Hall where we had to stay an extra week but I wasn't complaining. It's hard to find a nicer site

The wardens were excellent and cancelled our next site for us at Bolton Abbey. Checked on me regularly to see if all was ok and even offered to take the awning down when we finally left but by then I was ok.
The mover is the best thing I bought after the caravan.

Perhaps you would like to park up our twin axle caravan next time without damaging adjoining caravans the next time we take it back to the stoarge area.

Any experienced Woosie will know full well there are numerous situations where the towing vehicle cannot successfully reverse the caravan due to restricted space and smaller pitch sizes.
smiley-kiss.gif

Even I was glad to have my mover at Chapel Lane recently. There was a big light post in the way and if I had reversed from the other direction by going up a one way the wrong way , there was a big tree in the way. It was impossible to position correctly with the car.
IMO a mover should be a standard fitment on all but the smallest lightest caravans.

steady on DD comments like that could bring on a woosie moment
smiley-embarassed.gif
mines a smallish "380" lightweight van, but I would not be without the mover, regarding Copaul's comments"" I have been towing trailers for over 40 years and pride myself in being to put the van anywhere that has manouvering room,
however if anyone yes anyone could get the van into my garage nose first, with a clearance of 3in either side, having first reversed up the side exit with a foot clearance either side , round two 90 degree corners on a back road that is 20ft wide between walls, with the van still attached to the car, I'll buy them a drink nay "a barrel", that of course is assuming that someone who can also walk on water and do other miracles want's a drink.

Sir Chunky
Oh yes my Knight.
How right you are.
I've towed for years and admit I'd be lost without my mover. .
Now a fair well built toughfie Knight of your calibre should surely manage without.......... But as we all know that's why you're a Woosie

Hi all,

fitter just left, mover fitted and all working perfectly. quite impressed with time from clicking the button on the website to mover being on my caravan. the lad on the phone seemed nice and the guy that showed up at my house ( dont think it was the same guy ) was very polite too. just ordered a hitch lock & wheel clamp from them as well. i suggest anyone looking to get something for theyr van has a look at this "Caravan Crew" 10 out of 10 from me.
as for the actual mover i have been moving it up and down my drive (feel like a boy with a new toy) and cant wait till i actually need to use it.
all in all, im very glad i went for it.

Thanks for all your help guys,

Dave.

Dont do what we did.First time on site, couldnt get it to work.Spent 15 mins checking the battery connections ect ,being watched on a busy site, only to suddenly remember that on the P/T you have to press both standby buttons at the same time on the remote (we didnt use the van for a couple of months after having the mover fitted)
