I know this question has been asked before so I apologise in advance, but...... please can we have some advice and recommendations as to which mover to put on our Abbey GTS 418 2008 model caravan??

We are off in a few weeks to our favourite C.L. and had awful problems last year getting up the slight incline on very wet, grass, we were pushed onto the pitch in the end by some lovely fellow caravanners, and I must admit I'm getting worried about this year-especially with all this rain again!!

Prob too late I know to get one sorted now but is good to find out what everyone uses/recommends.

many thanks

Angela

I have had a Powertouch mover on my last 2 vans and have found them to be great.

The service from the company is second to none, if you have a problem they will fix it with the minimum of fuss.

I damaged mine on a kerb in Portugal a couple of years ago and replacement parts were sent out to me together with full, easy to follow fitting instructions.

I thoroughly recomend them.

Hi Angela,

I had mine fitted at the storage site where the van is stored. Brian the fitter for South Wales, phoned to arrange a date and time, I arranged to meet him at the storage at 9am two days later and he was there on the dot. It took about two hours to fit by an experienced engineer.

If you phone Powertouch and say you can get another mover made by another company and cheaper Powertouch will do a price match.

I had the power acuator fitted with mine, with just the flick of a switch the rollers are placed on the wheels, (handy if you store your van against a wall)

I've had mine about 2 years now and would not do without it recommend 100%

Hope this helps

Hi Angela,

I forgot to say if you contact Powrtouch and pay over the phone by credit/debit card the mover will take about 5 to 10 days to be fitted.

I used to live just outside Newport myself at one point (Langstone) before moving to Brynglas Road, Newport, when I got married, Now live in Pontypridd.

All the best

Hi Angela,

I would go back to powrtouch and say you can get a very similar product for a lot cheaper price, research the prices of other products first then go back and haggle.

I had mine fitted about two years ago and if I remember correctly I paid about

I spoke to Powrwheel the other day, and mentioned price match, they said they only do like for like, so you can only price match something with a 5 year warranty, she then told me they could do heavy duty single axle for

I too chose the Rhyno Lite. Works fine, but you have to pay cash and the instructions are rubbish. Nonetheless, fairly easy to fit and good value.

Hi

I fitted a Ryhno Lite to my Bailey Ranger 550/6. This has a mtpla (?) mass of 1296kg. I find it brilliant even on my gravel drive. It is high up and easy to fit. Occasionally it buzzes but doesn't move but most times it moves well - perhaps I should have gone for the uprated model. Not much use on wet grass and tyres when the wheels had sunk into my soft front lawn but probably true of most brands.
