I have have a small caravan with an Alko 1300 stabilizer. I have a new swan neck tow bar on my new Octavia . I also want to tow a small trailer with the Octavia. Can I use the tow ball on the Octavia without it affecting the stabilizer on the caravan. I realise I will have to clean it thoroughly between uses.

hi yes of course you can as the size is exactly the same the only difference is in the standoff mesurement.
I find that if a plastic bag is placed over the ball and secured with a elastic band before hitching up a greasy tow hitch it minimises the cleaning afterwards.

If you don't tow the trailer very much it may be worth considering removing all traces of grease on the trailer's coupling and not greasing it all. I'm in the same position as you and have never greased the trailer's coupling from new and it doesn't appear to have suffered by not greasing it.
