Thanks Val, another very useful site. I've already used it to find possible alternatives in case of ferry disruption 27th December.

In working through the list, however, I'm sorry to say it does not to quite do exactly what it says on the tin. I found some sites which said- Closed Christmas to January 6th and others for which the 'open all year' applied only to their rental chalets and not to the tourer pitches, so if you are using the website check each 'possible' individually and carefully. In all the cases above the source website stated open all year but it was only when checking the individual websites I found the exceptions.

So here's hoping for the Met people will be slightly wrong and the Low on Friday to be further north than they currently predict.

Hi Ray
I hope you weren't caught up in 'The Storm' and have managed to get to France.
Like all websites, you need to take what it says with a pinch of salt, but at least it is another resource for those travelling through France in low season. At least it give you the opportunity to have a look at possible sites on one easy to search website!

Hi Val thanks,we escaped in one of the calm(ish) intervals and write to you from sunny SE Spain.

Appreciate your point the about having to search trough websites for their small print; having a number of friends who have got into problems through not doing so, I thought I should remind them !

Going into the well recommended site in Rennes was a bit of a problem as the Navteq mapping (just updated) in Snooper insisted we were on Rocade Nord when the signs themselves said Rocade Est which led to some confusion. Arriving at the site barriers firmaly down until 1800 and nowhere to park outside (at least not legally), so perhaps readers should be aware the winter hours shown mean just what they say and best not to arrive outside them.

Happy New Year and good touring in 2014 Ray

Thanks for that Ray! At the moment, with this awful weather, I think most contributors on here will wish they were in Spain too! It's something that perhaps we might do, next winter..............................!
In the meantime we've got Croatia booked for May 2014 and are looking forward to better weather.
