musty smell

Have noticed a musty smell at the rear of our van.we have an elldis shamel with rear seats.some times you can smell it if van has been closed for a while.have scrubbed under seat area, smell goes, then you get a wiff.husband wonders if its from waste pipes underneath or could it be damp.can anyone help

If there are waste pipes in that area then they are worth checking. Many vans have the corrugated plastic pipe which is notorious for allowing waste material to stick inside.

If that fails to give a result then get a damp check done. When you checked under the seats were there any signs of sponginess or even mould anywhere, that could give a clue.

I have a Bailey & get a musty smell from the front right o/head locker area,I have had it damp checked & leave an airwick in the locker but still get the smell, seems to be comming from the insulation between the interior boarding & plastic front of the van

the service mechanic was also very puzzeled but could find no problem????
