We are selling this beautiful caravan because we need the funds for another caravan.

It just sounds a little desperate Yorkie and I do mean that in the nicest way possible even though it sounds awfull.

You've still got nearly 2 days yet so hopefully it will sell for you, i've seen some go berserk at the last few minutes so here's hoping.

How many people have you got watching it, keep an eye on that.

We'd have it but we've got one.

Martin.

Yorkie Puds,

I`ve noticed a couple of things that might hold up the sale on E bay. 1st, you dont say the year of manufacture.

2nd, you are asking for cash not many folk can put their hands on 6,500 pounds,

As martin says things often go mad in the last few minutes.

Good luck

Tony A.

Hi Yorkie

I assume you did your homework on prices, checking all the private ads in Practical Caravan and the Caravan Club mags? Are you buying your new toy from a dealer? If so did you get a figure for a px? I am sure your local dealer will tell the figures from his Glasses Guide.

Personally I would never buy a caravan off e-bay, well not for the money you require. There are plenty of similarly priced caravans at dealers, usually offered with a guarantee.

We thought of selling our c'van privately but in the end have opted to px it for a new one. The difference on paper was

This may sound rather harsh - but if I were looking for a van [ I'm not - very happy with my Abbey :)] I would be badly put off by the errors in your ad.

I've pasted a bit in here with the Errors corrected.

[edit]We are selling this beautiful caravan because we need the funds for another caravan[this should be a period not a comma ]It has an L shaped front seating area, which makes up[INTO] a very large front bed.

The caravan has a sepArate end bathroom, which incorporates a sepArate shower(never used),.... [/edit]

There are many others errors - such as Kris registered - this is Cris registration.

I'm sorry - I know I'm nit picking - but things like this can and do put folk off

Having said all that - it looks a really good buy - I do hope you manage to sell it at a reasonable price

No - I'm neither academic nor a teacher .

I know I usually get someone to proof read for me if I'm doing something that I want to look good.

It's sad - but first appearances really DO matter. I have heard other people making the same comment by the way , but they have been even more scathing - along the lines of -' Well with all those mistakes I wonder what else is wrong with it ? ' Unkind - yes , but it happens.

Hi, Sorry Yorkie Puds, I am with Angela on this one. If I am looking for something to buy & the advert has lots of mistakes it would put me off too!!!!! A little bit of basic English grammer does not harm anyone. A bit of careful checking in an advert says alot about the item you are trying to sell. By the way I am neither academic nor a teacher! Good luck with the sale.

we thought about selling our Indiana on ebay but were worried about being conned or getting fake cash,Am part exing taking a little loss instead of a complete loss. Also in nicest way I agree with comment about poor spelling and grammar, people could think if you didnt take much trouble with ad you might not have cared for van or even that you were a traveller although I am sure many have an excellent education, its just peoples perception.

David just for the record I am not a traveller or tatter as we call them over here, I am actually a teaching assistant with a lovely family and home, all I wanted was a little advice from the forum, but all I have received is total critisism dont know if thats spelled right by the way, dont really care!. so get your spell checkers at the ready to check this baby.... goodnight...

i am not trying to criticise you at all you seem to take offence if people do not creep around you. why do you bother asking if you are going to be nasty when they suggest things.I would love to sell mine privately and make some money so if you find the secret let me know.

Yorkie,

See my earlier posting regarding price and alternative methods of disposal. I am not surprised e-bay was a failure. A lot of people are suspicious of sellers. Personally I would not part with over
