good morning
We are new to this touring stuff. We have just hired a tourer for a week and everything was fine with moving the caravan around. Now for the big BUT - I don't want want they think I want on the inside. For instance I do not want a wardrobe in my bathroom or valuable space taken up with a shower cubicle that I cannot bend over in. I have a long list so I want to do my own thing - can anyone help?

Hello Caro, welcome to the forum
smiley-laughing.gif

If you are considering buying a touring caravan there are various layouts available for you to choose from.
First of all set your budget, are you buying new or used?
Next find out what you can safely and legally tow with your towing vehicle and driving licence.
When you have the information you need (ask forum members if you have any questions) visit caravan dealers forecourts and have a good look inside the models that are on show.
Walk around them, check how much storage space is available and how easy it is to use, sit on the furniture, decide how much worktop space you need and what sort of shower cubicle you prefer ( ours is a large square one, I'd probably get stuck in a 'beam me up, Scotty' type).
Enjoy afternoons out at caravan dealers, ask questions and haggle for the best deal.
Make a list of 'likes' and 'dislikes' to find the layout that you like best at a price you are prepared to pay and don't be in too much of a hurry, because buying your first tourer is not something you do every day.

Hi caro, Trips to caravan dealers are great fun. There are loads of layouts to investigate and shower cubicles to bend over in, before you have to resort to custom building your own
Happy hunting

Hi caro big welcome to the forum, hope you find what you are looking for
You say you want to do your own thing, are you going to modify it?
Dont think you will find the perfect van, always a compromise somewhere, but good luck
