My Tow Car

Hi,

So having joined here yesterday, thought I'd share my Tow Car with you. The Car of choice is a Nissan Navara, it makes the whole towing experience quite easy.

I need to add a spacer at some time because the hitch gets a little close to the rear step, just time really!

One great thing on the Navara is the rear camera on the tailgate, it sure makes things easy.

One thing to watch, particularly if the Caravan isnt massive is your speed! The Navara is very Strong!

Cheers
James

Hi James
When you add your towbar spacer it's a good idea to replace the towbar bolts, nuts and washers at the same time.
I know what you mean about watching the speed, my Mitsubishi 2.8 Pajero tows the twin axled Abbey 620 as though it isn't there and I've set my TomTom satnav to sound a warning chime at 50mph and another at 60mph so that I don't inadvertently stray over the speed limits on trunk roads and motoways. It's vital to ensure that your caravan tyres are in good condition and correctly inflated and load distribtion is also important for stability, there are some tips Here

I drive two new 3.0 litre Outlaws towing commercial trailers and we tow the odd caravan, repatriating them to the UK quite often.
Very capable and pleasant towing experience with a heavy tow load expecially compared to the 2.5 and older models. Driving solo isn't so pleasant, I had to use one to collect a trailer from Portugal last year and long distance without a trailer it clearly showed its commercial pedigree as the ride and handling doesn't match the power on tap.
If you need a commercial work vehicle that doubles as a family tow car it's a fairly good choice, if towing is minimal and it will be used a lot as a family car ? ? ?
Happy towing
