Naburn Lock

Off to Naburn lock campsite outside York shortly anyone been there and have any info on it.

Buses to and from York leave almost from the gates. Also water buses to and from the lock which is close to the site though check times etc. Both well worth using if possible given the eyewatering parking charges in York. York Minster and the Castle Museum entry tickets are valid for multiple visits - we found the museum well worth a second outing.

Naburn Lock is a very nice site.We would endorse everything that Mike has said except that we used park and ride all the time we were there(8days).The most interesting place we have ever been to,never a dull moment.Do try the water taxi into York you get a running commentary all the way into York.Plenty of good eating places all very reasonable.York City Council have done a good job of attracting people (tourists)into the City.We hope you enjoy your stay there.Jim

Hi there

This is a brilliant site that I would highly reccomend. It is not far from York and the bus service is very good also there is a lovely pub 10 minute walk from the site that serves very nice meals and there is also a couple of chip shops nearby which are very good. The site itself is excellent and the little on site shop has all the essentials. Hope this helps!
