We have been visiting Rhandirmwyn since 1987. We’ve stayed in B&B, the Royal Oak and caravans and tents on the delightful C&CC site. Our first visit was specifically to look for what at that time were the last of Britain’s critically endangered Red Kites and their nests were being protected by member of the Gurkha Regiment, and we struck lucky. Since then local numbers have increased along with introductions throughout Britain. We have always had dogs with us and often grandchildren would come too.
So this time we have stayed at the pub and introduced Nala, the Sprocker, to the delights of Wales. We had to re jig our itinerary as unbeknown to me the Rali Ceredigion was taking place. So today we drove the classic mountain switch back south from LLandovery over the Black Mountain, trying hard not to hold up the bikers or many sporting cars. Then circled around to the castle Carra Cerragon castle and a delightful Cawl and Barrabrith lunch. A good day now looking forward to a home cooked curry in the pub. Tomorrow the Tregaron Bog and Strata Florida Abbey.
The dog just does what she normally does and takes it all in her stride.
