Hi all, me and my better half are looking to by a new caravan and I was wondering if we would be better off waiting and going to the NEC show in October and whether the show prices are any better than local dealers. Thanks Daryl.

You may well obtain some discount from dealers at the NEC show Daryl but what you have to bear in mind is that to keep guarantees and warranties valid the caravan has to be serviced in accordance with the manufacturers requirements.
Quite often dealers who didn't sell the caravan won't carry out warranty work so if anything needed to be rectified you would have to travel back to the supplying dealer.
The cost of doing this could easily outweigh any discount that you had at the show. Why not ask local dealers if they are going to be at the NEC, they might price match?

I agree with Parksy.
Best reason to go to the show is to see all the new models in one place. It saves a lot of diesel compared to driving between all the different local dealers and you can walk between two different vans until you decide what really works for you. When they are 20 miles apart on different dealer sites, you don't have that option.

In terms of buying at the show, if you have a part-exchange, that really complicates deal-making. Speak to dealers at the show and see what sort of deal they can come up with, but the cheapest deal is not neccesarily a good one. Come and see the Practical Caravan on the stand at the show. We are giving buying advice on the stand and will do our best to help the decision making process!

Cheers
