I need to buy a new wheel clamp and wondered how other people had found this. I've not been able to find many reviews. I need something secure (obviously!) but also easy to fit as I do not have full use/strength in one arm. Thanks.

A friend of mine sells security products including wheel clamps. The Nemesis is one of the least popular products in his line. The reason? It's heavy and cumbersome.

Another reason is - ANY wheelclamp is easy to cut through for any determined thief with the right equipment. Why pay good money for a top-of-the-range wheelclamp that a determined thief can and WILL cut through just to satisfy our insurance requirements? My own (and many others) opinion is, get a good wheel clamp that doesn't cost the Earth just so your insurance is valid, and one you're happy with fitting and removing and sod the security of it.

Hi Phoenix

We bought a Nemesis for our new van last year. I think you have to be a bit like Swartznegger to wrestle with it plus I've never got it to fit on the new Baileys alloys that well. Also if you take it for on site security it's a bit of a handful. We ended up buying an Alko wheel-lock, a bit pricey but a lot easier to fit than I thought (in fact it's a easy peasey when you get used to it) and an absolute doddle to transport.

We now leave the Nemesis at home and fit it when the van is stored, looks very impressive, probably give any thief a hernia trying to lift it.

Hope this is of help

Best regards Tomo

I also bought the Nemesis & find it easier than the Milenco to fit, however you need to remove any wheeltrims to fit it As said in a previous post ,as long as a clamp complies with your insurance and is easy to fit any difference in security is minimal.Havin said that I have a nemesis on one side & a Milenco on the other

I thought about buying the nemesis but whilst on site in Dorset last September I chatted to someone who had one I will not repeat exactly what he thought of it suffice to say I haven't bought one.

I too own a Nemesis wheel clamp. It's Sold Secure gold rated, Very well made and looks the part, however, it's just too awkward ((pinched fingers and scaped knuckles arrrgghhhh) and too heavy! (too heavy for me to take on site).

My advice?.......steer clear!

Thanks for your responses. I won't be getting one!! You only confirm suspicions I already had. Any suggestions for suitable alternatives?
