We are looking to book New England Bay for a week in late September.

There are just the two of us and a small dog, all looking for some peace, long walks and nice views.

Does anyone have any feedback please.

We stayed here at Easter 2006. It is a lovely quiet site. As you are planning to go in September you should be lucky to get one of the pitches at the front of the site which will give you lovely sea views. The long beach will give you plenty of opportunities to stretch your legs.

New England is a lovely site and should be reasonably quiet in Sept.as the schools will all be back.

Visit the Mull of Galloway ......on a good day you can see Ireland.

Port Logan is very nearby and is a little gem of a place. The Botanical gardens are also very pleasant.

The beach is flat & very safe. There's so much more to see & do,but you will get all the info.on site.

we spent 14 days there, midges where about, but the strong winds seem to keep them at bay.

The very strong winds be carefull if you put a awning up as the site is on hard rock, we had to turn the van around as we could not open the door without hanging on for dear life.

Its a very peacefull site the vans are so close to the bay,and quite a few people had there own boats to go out fishing in the bay.

Allow yourself plenty of time as the main road A75 to Stranraer

can be very busy with the lorries to Stranraer for Northern Island

So true Royston , we stayed there years ago and during the night I decided to position the car to block the wind from the awning which was taking a battering.

I looked over at the motorhome next to us to see it leaning at a frightening angle.

The next morning I mentioned to the owner of the motorhome that he must have had a worrying night and was amazed when he told me he had slept like a log and had no idea it was so windy ;O)
