Hello everyone this is my first time on a caravan forum.

My wife and i have been caravaning since 1998, before that we started off in 1984 with a conway trailer tent then moved onto a coleman trailer tent. When we moved to caravans we started with a cheap old ABI Monza then after a couple of years we sold it and bought a 6 yr old Bailey Scorpio and then 5 yrs ago traded it in against a Bailey Ranger 500/5 which we have to this day. We have converted the rear dinette to a fixed bed added a motor mover a couple of yrs ago to make it easier to move the van after my wife had a stroke. We live in the N/E of Scotland on the Moray Firth coast and tour around Scotland and once a year take the caravan down to Hampshire to see family and friends. We like to use CL sites mainly but also stay on the club sites and other commercial sites.

Hope this is not to boring

Hi to you both and welcome to the forum.

The Moray coast is one of our favourite areas for birdwatching and we usually base ourselves for a few days at Brodie Mill Caravan Site near Forres, when we are visiting that part of Scotland.

Agree with you about it being easier to move the 'van around with a motor mover. We've just had one fitted and it's great to just press a button and the van goes where you want it.

It's quite a haul down to Hampshire from where you are!

Hi meals on wheels.

Thanks for welcoming us to the forum. I know the site at Brodie pass it quite often. We stay in a little fishing village called Portknockie which is about 35 east of Brodie, nice views out into the firth and quite often see the dolphins swimming about 50 / 100 yards off the harbour and coves, quite a lot of bird and wildlife around here and some nice caravan sites as well.

As you said its a fair haul down to Hampshire normally takes between 12 /15 hrs with the van depending on the time we leave the traffic etc. Its 638 miles from home to CL site at Titchfield where we stay.

We tend now to break the journey up into two days now stopping either around Penrith if go M6 way or around Richmond if we go down A1/M1.

I tow with a Rover 820si (1998) and get between 23 - 27 mpg depending upon conditions.

Hope you enjoy your next visit to the Moray area.
