I test drove the 182 Tucson last year before buying another CX-5.
Its a very good car with a full sized alloy wheel, so the Tucson boot is actually bigger than my CX-5 due to me losing 50mm of boot height with my full size spare.

I drove an auto on 17" wheels and thought it handled very well indeed, it was only the high price, the poor emmisions, some naff dash plastic, and the oversized wheel arch plastics, that put me off the car.

So if the new Sportage is anything like the sister companies version its well worth a test drive.
I had a 2014 Sportage for a week and didn't rate it compared to the CX-5 or Tucson, but maybe the new sportage has improved.

The version of the Tucson i drove was well over 1700kg in weight, so i would be happy to tow around 1600kg with it.
