hi,we're Pete and Marion and are new to caravaning. We bought our first van in October an Abbey Expression 640 and although we have not been too far as yet we love it.We have booked a few trips away for this year including France for our summer holiday. This brings us to the problem we now have and I know someone out there will be able to advise. Our van is in storage and they have now restricted the access times to office hours. When arriving back in the Uk at Portsmouth 22.30 hours we will not be able to take the van back until the following morning. We can't take the van home and can't book a site as we would arrive outside of hours any ideas. Thanks, Marion

Try investigating the 'Late Night Arrivals' areas at Caravan Club sites. Not fully sure how they work but a 'phone call to the wardens at a handy site might help.

Hi Pete and Marion

If all else fails you could park overnight on a motorway service area but bear in mind that they charege for stopovers of more than two hours.

Hi Marion,

Rookesbury Park Caravan Club site nr Fareham is about 15mins outside Portsmouth. We're staying there on our late evening return from France, this summer. It has a dedicated area for late arrivals where you don't even have to bother to un-hitch. We stayed there last year the night before an early morning ferry to the Isle of Wight. You have to notify the Warden if you intend to use the late arrivals area.

Hope this of help.
