Hi. We are totally new to caravaning
We are thinking of buying either a Coachman laser 850 xcel. Or an Eldis Buccaneer Auruba. Both new. Any advice about either. Thanks.
Possibly the answer is which suits you best, as taste is individual. Both are superb caravans and there is nothing in the layouts that should cause concern.
Having said that the Coachman should be better made if that is your concern. The magazine carries out a consumer survey every year and Coachman are normally the top UK brand for customer satisfaction and Eldiss bottom. The difference is not that great but is consistent.
Eldiss were taken over by the European Trigano group about two years ago and should have improved, although I doubt they have reached Coachman standards.
Whatever you tow with you will need a B+E licence and a substantial tow car to tow either. They are big caravans and are quite a challenge for a newcomer to towing though if that is your position.
There are several reviews on these if you Google them I have added two below that may help.
