Has anyone out there had experience of the new millenco leveler.

It's nearly the same as the Bulldog, but is made from aluminium to keep the weight down.

looking at it it seams that you would be able to level the van to a tight precision, but I wonder how stable it is when you have a full van load of bodies walking around?

Pat, I assume that you mean the Lockloy? I bought one when we took delivery of our new 'van with an Alko wheel lock as it seemed the easiest way to get the lock on and then level the 'van after. It works well but is not so easy to wind up once it has taken the full weight of the caravan. It comes with an attachment for a cordless drill but I can't see any way that a cordless would be powerfull enough to lift up in the region of 700kg weight on the leveller. I bought a ratchet spanner (same size as the steady winder) and this works better - but does take a while if you are lifting more than a couple of inches. It is a good product, but I still carry my Fiamma leveling ramps as well! If you but one remember to keep the thread greased.

Hope this helps,

Neal

Hi,

Two years ago at an EribaFest, I'm afraid six or seven of us watched a friend very slowly raise his Eriba Troll (1200 kg) with his Bulldog leveller.

I'm sure a ratchet spanner would have helped - but we'd finished the bottle of wine before he had it level.

It looks exactly the same as the Bulldog version but made from Alloy. Once the van is level you lower your corner steadies as per usual and everything is completley stable. You would not even feel the difference between the leveler and blocks.

As for winding the van up on a drill, I think they are living in a dream, although a cordless nut runner / impact gun would handle the job easily (costs the same as a quality cordless drill and can be used for the corner steadies)

The bulldog unit weighs between 8.5 kg to 10.5 kg depending on the wheel size model you chose whereas the Milenco is around 5.3kg and covers wheels up to 15"

I am currently using a Bulldog but with the new lighter alloy version from Milenco will definatley be changing very soon.

There is a basic difference between the Bulldog and the Millenco.

The universal joint on the Millenco is at the top of the 'rising screw' which makes the initial winding difficult. I have cured this with a friend by attaching a jubilee clip where the joint bends.

Although heavier the Bulldog seems easier to use and feels much more sturdy.

I have used both and although an 18v cordless drill managed to work them a ratchetless socket wrench is my preferred weapon.
