New to forum and Caravaning

Hi everyone,
Well we have been pondering over buying a caravan for a while and now we have bitten the bullet. We have brought a Swift Challenger 480se millenium and are really happy with it. So over the next weeks, months and years we are hoping to get the best out of it. So any information on sites and tips would be very much appreciated. We have joined Camping and Caravan Club and have heard those guys are very helpful as well.

Hi Paul, welcome to the Practical Caravan forum and warmest congratulations on buying your Swift Challenger and on taking the plunge and joining this forum

Fellow forum members have a wealth of caravan related knowledge which they are always happy to share so whatever you need to know, just ask.
The C&CC has main club sites and certified sites which are usually quiet sites with just 5 caravans and are usually less expensive than club sites because cs pitch prices are 'per unit' (caravan) rather than 'per person'.
To get the very best from your caravan and to maximise it's usage C&CC rallies are worth a try, no pre booking is needed and you could enjoy some great times on rallies and learn a lot from fellow ralliers.

Hi Paul welcome aboard. It might be a little early to suggest this to you but perhaps longer term have a thought about Caravanning abroad. Its a lot easier than you might think and being in the C&C Club you get some good deals on Channel crossings and foreign sites.They will handle all the bookings, payments and insurance for you too! Maybe a bit frightening to think of at the start but you can really expand your caravanning enjoyment by going continental!

Hello and welcome, have fun and enjoy! Agree with what's written about how to make the most of your membership! We nearly always use CS's and CL's usually without electric hook up to keep the costs down and often quieter than sites with. In addition to rallies which may be being held where you want to go you may also want to think about tempory holiday sites as another handy place to stay, again often don't need to book, although we normally ring just to make sure there's room.
