Hi. Great site and forum. We are about to embark on our search for our first motorhome, lots of comparison's to make, layout, old versus new, fixed bed etc. but we have now decided on the layout we need. We have also decided to look for a pre-owned motorhome rather than a new or newer one. Trouble is it is difficult to assess what is a good deal, it's easy to assess the condition of the interior or the state of the bodywork etc. but I would be keen to know what experienced motorhomers think is reasonable mileage for a 10 year old van and what would be deemed as average annual mileage for a van. I don't mind buying a van with 80k miles if it's been well maintained but are there any figures that would make the experienced motorhomer "suck through their teeth" haha.

Thanks for any advice forwarded.

Hi and a warm welcome to the Practical Motorhome forum. Thanks for posting!

It sounds like you've got it pretty much under control, but our 12 Steps To Your Perfect ’Van article might still help a little? You can get independent inspections from motorhome-specific garages prior to purchase (for a fee), which might help you buy with confidence? The RAC's vehicle data checks have also been extended to motorhomes, which might be of interest?
