looking to buy our first van for the 2010 season so we have been viewing new vans over the weekend , and it looks like a choice between the Bailey Ranger 460/4 or the Sprite Alpine 4.

Both very similar in layout, weight and spec and can get both for around the same price.

Wife likes the look of the Alpine whereas i prefer the Ranger ( nothing new there ).

From experience is there much of a difference between the two makes? build quality , reliability . customer service etc.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

When we bought our Alpine 4,we had a good look at the ranger 460/4 as well.

We settled on the alpine cos it felt much wider down the middle of the van,and therefore easier for us both to move about.

We also liked the way the telly was mounted so that you can watch it easily anywhere in the van without having to fiddle with the wires.

The wife liked the upholstery more,it seemed fresher and more up to date.

We thought it looked better on the outside,as the dealer said"you cant beat a white van"

Other than that there didnt seem a great deal to choose between them.It is now 8 months old and we havent had any problems at all with it.The 2010 model looks spot on.

As dean said I would get the diamond pack as well, its worth it.

Ive never owned a Ranger,so its difficult to make an unbiased case.

PS are you the same Jim who was going to buy that second hand one for 7 gran?

We have looked at the Bailey Ranger GT60 540/6 and the sprite Major 6, all I'm going to say is we were very dissapointed with the finish of the Ranger, it looked a lovely van, but when we sat on the front seats and looked up at the finish under the roof lockers it was awful IMHO
