Had a phone call from the dealer that we are buying our new van from to say that delivery was now going to be new year rather than before christmas as originally said, that's fair enough but when I rang them I was told that everything on course for production on 25th November it's now been put back til 15th Dec.

While I realise that Swift and others had a very good show at the NEC I'm fed up that the dealer specials have been put back and even more fed up that I'll miss new year away in the van.

Rant over.

Thank you.

Trev.

Hi Trev,

Whilst I do understand your delivery problem with your caravan shouldn't your rant have been directed at the Managing Director of the company you are purchasing the caravan from plus a strongly worded letter to the Managing Director of Swift's for a result.Always put your complaint to the man at the top then if that doesn't work your local paper or radio station these companies do not like publicity.go for it and good luck and don't give in .Jim(Don't forget to register your)letter

Hi Jim

Already had a rant at dealer but there isn't, in all honesty, much I can do if Swift aren't making the vans til mid Dec no matter who I throw my toys at they still won't be making them til mid Dec, it's just so frustrating having to wait another month longer than expected.

If its been put back to the New Year you need to have a chat as because you will be invoiced in 2010 and VAT will be back up to 17.5%.

Hi Trev

At the time of order and payment of your deposit did the supplying dealer give you , in writing, a delivery date? If they did and they have breached it , it could work out well for you.You may be able to barter some goodies foc plus say lost interest on the deposit. Not much today LOL.

Manufacturing is a difficult business and one failure by one supplier can cause unforeseen delays.

Cheers

Mentioned that to the dealer aswell and am waiting for a letter to explain what their proposals are for the payment, suffice to say I am not paying any more than the agreed price on day of order.

Delivery was Dec 09 on the paperwork so any change to that is as far as I can see a breach, BUT, the paperwork does cover them extremely well should the delivery be delayed, included was, act of god, nuclear explosion etc, I thought I was buying a caravan not life insurance!

You are buying a caravan not a crucial life support device, so the delay isn't going to kill you! The delay maybe a late delivery of an important part, machinery breakdown, who knows, but its not a disaster?

You will be hoping for a goodwill gesture on his side as he has to charge you the going rate of VAT at time of invoice,if he says no not alot you can do,i bet the paperworks small print says charged at current rate.

Hi Missedagain1

I'm sorry about the delay in the production of your caravan. If you would like to email me the van details, dealer, and sales order I am happy to look into this for you.

Thanks

Dave
