Newbie - silly question for 1st time caravan trip

Hi, I am due to take our new(old) caravan awary for the 1st time this weekend. Can some one let me know, do you leave your gas supply on at night or turn it off.

we will be turning ours off before we go bed and when away from the van, we have a little door/lid in the back of the van that you can put your hand through to turn on/off so you dont have to keep going out etc as my aunty and uncle when away in there van a few years back woke up with the van a blaze, they managed to get out, fire brigade came out etc and said it was to do with the light in the front locker and the gas being on so i will most not be leaving it on 24/7.lol

oh yes, when she was renewing her insurance the company got the dates mixed up and her insurance was put down to start 2 weeks after they went away when she purposely called to make sure they had it............. bye bye
